Film ‘Walwal’ to feature talents of Elmo, Kiko, Jerome, Donny


Young stars Elmo Magalona, Kiko Estrada, Donny Pangilinan and Jerome Ponce are all starring in direk Joey Reyes’ upcoming film “Walwal.” According to previous interviews, Reyes himself handpicked the actors in his first movie project for 2018. Graft case recommendation vs Aquino leaves Lacson in disbelief



Senator Panfilo Lacson said he found it “difficult” to believe that  former President Benigno Aquino III was “capable of committing graft and corruption.” Having worked  closely with ex-PNoy (Aquino) both in the Senate and MalacaƱang, it is difficult for me to believe that he was capable of committing  graft and corruption,” Lacson, who served as rehabilitation czar during Aquino’s time, said on Twitter on Wednesday. His statement came shortly after Senator Richard Gordon released a draft report of the Senate blue ribbon  committee which recommended the  filing of a graft case  against Aquino over the P3.5-billion  Dengvaxia mess.

Pakistani doctors discovered a rare case of “double nail” when a man came to them with a tiny fingernail growing out on top of his middle finger’s nail. A paper published in the journal International Journal of Surgery Open provided details on the unusual case and how the doctors were able to remove it from the 28-year-old man’s finger.

Bohol celebrates heroism of gov’t troops a year after foiled Abu attack



The Bohol provincial government officials chose to commemorate on Wednesday the attempt of Abu Sayyaf bandit group to seize the province last year which killed three Army soldiers, a policeman and two civilians, and displaced hundreds of families during the firefight that lasted for a month and spanned three towns. Bohol Gov. Edgar Chatto explained they were celebrating, not the entry of the Abu Sayyaf, but the heroism shown by the government troops who were relentless in hunting down the bandit group until all 11 were killed as well as the community involvement that enabled authorities to learn about their entry.

As the anticipation mounts ahead of Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle next month, it has been revealed that the couple’s nuptials are set to be commemorated with a royal fragrance.
Perfumer Floris London, which has held a royal warrant since 1820, will be feting the occasion with a new scent, People reports. According to the brand’s London Jermyn Street boutique manager Amalia Robles, the perfume will be inspired by the brand’s existing Bergamotto di Positano, which the company describes as evoking “the cooling sea breeze and crystal-clear waters of the Amalfi coast.”

Duterte signs AO creating oversight committee for new telecoms player in PH



President Rodrigo Duterte has signed an administrative order (AO) creating an oversight committee for the entry of the third telecommunications company in the Philippines.
The President signed Administrative Order No. 11 on April 6 but it was released only to the media on April 11. The entry of a new major player in the telecommunications market, the President, said, “is a matter of paramount national interest which shall redound to the benefit of the public by ensuring genuine competition in the country’s telecommunications industry.”

Ilocos Norte is rich, not poor, says Imee Marcos




Ilocos Norte was not among the country’s top 20 poorest provinces, Gov. Imee Marcos said on Tuesday. Marcos was reacting to Vice President Leni Robredo’s recent portrayal of several provinces, including Ilocos Norte, as among the Philippines’ top 20 poorest in her speech at the London School of Economics. Marcos said contrary to statistics cited by Robredo, Ilocos Norte was among the top 20 richest provinces of the Philippines based on Philippine Statistics Authority data.
